I have a baby dove it has some fluff and pin feathers. I have kitten fomula and a home and heating pad but i do not know how much to feed it or how often. I have never sucessfully rescued a baby bird but I really want to do this right please help asap

Trying to repair some damage thirty years after the fact (sorry about the length)?

In 1981, my eight-year-old brother Andrew was kidnapped by a family acquaintance and held hostage for three weeks. During this time, he was routinely beaten and sexually abused by his captor. He was also burned with boiling water and forced to listen while his captor made crank calls to our family pretending to be the police, telling us that Andrew had been found. He was rescued after three weeks. It had taken that long to track him down because his captor had them moving around all the time. It's strange to me how a period of time as short as three weeks could destroy so many lives, and leave so many still broken after thirty years. Andrew's body recovered from the trauma, but his mind never healed. The Andrew that came back to us was not the Andrew we had previously known. Before the trauma, Andrew was very social and outgoing. We were only two years apart and always very close. I never had any other brothers or sisters. He was a sweet little boy with a good sense of humor, and, being an older sister, I teased him constantly. Not meanly, but in a playful way. He is the most ticklish person to ever walk planet Earth, and as a little kid he loved it when I tickled his feet. We wrestled and play-fought and just enjoyed being with each other. When he came back, everything changed. Andrew had always been close to me and my parents also, but after he came back he acted like he couldn't even stand the sight of us. I could never understand that. I thought he should be happy to be back with us, people who loved him. He told me when he was older that I was a stranger to him and that there was a gulf separating him from everyone else. He was resentful that other people hadn't been where he had been. When he first came back and started beng like that, I tried so hard to bring him back. I tickle-attacked him like I used to and even though he squirmed and laughed just the same, he didn't enjoy it at all. He wouldn't wrestle either, and didn't seem to want to be around me at all. He did well in school and never had issues with drugs and alcohol, he's been successful in life and has a wife and kids, but for the past thirty years you can tell that something in him is just gone. Something inside him died all those years ago and, despite this, I still hope so hard that I can bring him back. I still see him and our children play together, but that confidence is gone. He underwent counseling as a child and teen but it didn't help him and he doesn't see anyone anymore. I encourage him to see someone about his depression and the pain he still feels but he says it wouldn't make any difference. I'm sorry this post is so long but I just don't know what to do to help him. He's physically healthy and financially stable, but I want to be close to him again and my parents want the same. Is there anything I can do to bring him back, to make us all just a little closer?

I'm 14 and for a little while now I've been having bad pain in my right knee whenever I run, jump, or like bend it like as in lunging. I get it in my left knee to but it's not as bad. My mom got me a knee brace for it but it doesn't help. I looked up the disease and it hurts where they say it does. Like below your knee like the top of your shin. I am very active. I do track volleyball I tumble and do cheerleading but is only invovled in cheerleading and tumbling right now. Only I was playing basketball earlier and when I was done my knee was really hurting bad. And btw, I never did anything to it, they jut randomly started to hurt

Trying to decide if I should get another Cocktiel?

We unexpectedly rescued a cockatiel from a tree outside my work almost 2 years ago. We put ads out but no one claimed him so instead of taking him to a shelter we decided to keep him & named him Harley. Did alot of research when we got him because I've never had one before and since then we have become to love him to death. His previous owner must have been kind to him because he is mostly hand tamed and loves to be out of his cage, however, he doesn't get out of his cage as much as he used to due to our schedules and us already having 4 dogs so we need to have Harley in a separate room when we do take him out. My husband is at home most of the day so Harley does get at least an hour out a day and on the weekends I spend at least an hour a day with him. We also put him in our living room during the day and in our bedroom at night so he is always in our sight and we also communicate with him throughout the day as much as we can. However, sometime I feel guilty that he is still not getting enough time out of his cage. When he is out, he doesn't really explore. He pretty much stays on our shoulders but lately he is not wanting to go back into his cage when its time. I do not know if he came from a home with another bird or not. Me and my husband have contemplated getting another one for about a year now but are torn. I have read that if you have 2 birds, then they will bond more with each other than with you. We certainly don't want that. However, if we did get another would it be acceptable to permanently keep them in separate cages. I really don't want to house them together. I don't mind the extra cleaning work, but what if we put their cages side by side and they seem to get along and then get frustrated because they can't have contact with each other. Would that stress them out. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Help : I messed up on Valentine's day!!?

so yesterday was valentines day and it wasn't terrible. My boyfriend showed up at my door really early with flowers, a teddy ber, my favorite breakfast, and a really nice card. I told him i would give him is gift later because it wasn't ready yet. This was a cover up. my gift just sucked compared to all he had done for me. So i went to the store, got some random stuff, and added it the the chessy personalized guitar picks i had already gotten him. When he opened it all he said he was happy, but it just seemed lame. After he left my house that night i immediately got him a jersey for his favorite sports team and tickets to a game. However, how do give this stuff to him without seeming like a total loser for not having a good gift that day? Do i say it was a makeup for the badness of the first gift or just how he forgets about the first one when he receives this one?

My husband signed a house into his name for his sister about 2 years before we met in about 06. Anyways between then and now she went into foreclosure about 3 times and rarely even held jobs. First, he is young. He may not have figured out how to jump back over without his housemate's help. Also, there are a lot of sounds, smells, and confusing things outside. Especially outside the safety of the garden and house he knows. Being outside can be scary sometimes, and your cat just feels scared. The rain doesn't help. You should ask your nearby vet for much more detailed information.

I hurt my boyfriend really badly........???What should I do?

Ok so let me start this off by saying I have never seen my boyfriend cry. Not even after his parents' death, sad movies, nothing makes him cry and I've never seen him cry or even close to crying. We are both 25, both have degrees, and good jobs. I am a social worker, and he's a pilot. So we've been together 2 years, and the 2 years have been amazing. He's not your typical nice guy boyfriend. He has a lot of hobbies, and doesn't share them all with me but does his best. He pushes me to be the best I can be and keeps me on my toes. I am not bored of the relationship and even though I think of myself as an independant woman, I miss him a lot sometimes when he's away(he's a pilot). Everything is great except for one thing, his lack of openness. We do talk about feelings(I bring it up all the time and do most of the talking), but when he has problems he doesn't open up and just keeps it inside. I really want to help, but whenever I ask and bug him about it he just says "I'm fine" or "nothing". So a couple nights ago we got into the biggest argument to date over him and his lack of openness and i felt that he liked his hobbies more than me, and we both called each other every name in the book. I was really angry and obviously didn't mean anything I said, but I did say that I didn't love him and never wanted to talk to him again. He said ok then lets end this and leave. So I left, but when I got to my car I noticed I forgot my purse so I went back inside to get it. When I walked back inside to the basement where we were arguing, he wasn't there and I got my purse and walked up. I was tiptoeing the whole time so he wouldn't notice me, but when I got near the door, I could hear him in his room crying. I had never seen him cry and I was really shocked and it was jut a big ball of mixed emotions so I just left because I was so confused and when I got home I caleld my mom and told her and I really wanted to go hold him because I didn't mean what i said but it's been almost 14 days and ive been calling him and texting him but he hasn't been responding. I know he's doing his 4 day work shift, but i feel terrible. i mean he didnt even cry at his parents' funeral but he cried over losing me??? what does this mean? ive been crying all week and i really want to just go and lay there with him but hes not home and he wont even acknowledge my calls or texts(he always cals me when he's landed). for both of us the 2 years means a lot, and by him not calling me does it mean that i valued the relationship more than he did? is he over me? does the 2 years mean nothing at all to him? i know he needs time to cool down but it's been 2 weeks almost already and i cannot get in contact him him!!:(.

I know it varies bird to bird, but if you have one or know someone who does, how often do they scream and how loud is the scream? I recently went to a bird rescue and there was a wagler conure, a couple of jendays (maybe 3 or so), and two nandays were all screaming at once before I had to step out and stand on the steps. If this were me, I would be so angry that I'd be giving her a LOT more space. For one thing, I would not be sleeping with her - I'd be sleeping on the couch. For another, I would not hug her nor let her touch me in any way. In other words, you need to be giving her MORE space - how can she miss you if you won't go away (figuratively)?

I rescued a baby squirrel (Rocco) out of my wall. He was about 2-3 months old. I never handled him. I kept him in a cage in the house until he was about 4 months old. He was treated like a famiIy pet. I released him in a tree in the front of my house about a month ago. We put his cage in the tree, he goes in it sometimes, but not for long. It's there if he wants to. I keep his water inside, and his food on top. I have been feeding, and watering him. He sits in the fork of a tree in the afternoon for feeding. In the morning and at night I am not sure where he is. I'm pretty sure he has found a nest in another tree. My question is, We are fixing to move, should I catch him and move him with us? He has been free for a month, and he takes food from me. If not, should I come over and keep feeding him after we move. What should I do? We live in Central Texas Thanks, Sissy

Beginner photography tips- very basic camera?

Learn your camera! Read the manual so you know everything it can do and all of its settings and scene options it has. Most cameras have pre-set settings for certain scenes, like nighttime, motion, outdoor, etc so that the pictures look best when you take them there. Some camera's have it where you can manually adjust settings like ISO and exposure and stuff though so just read your manual for help with that! Also I really hate the use of flash. I think natural lighting always looks best, but that's just my own opinion. :)

your vet is an idiot and knows nothing about jack russells ... that rabbit will be dead if you leave them alone together ... your pup is all sweet now at 10 weeks old but as that dog matures so will his hunting instincts and i am sorry, but that rabbit is prey ... it does not matter if they grow up together ... google jack russells and cats and jacks can randomly kill the family cat even if they have grown up together ... the bunny understands, and i hope you get it before your bunny is dead ... i say keep them separate as the dog could kill the bunny with one bite and hope that when the dog does mature, it does not fixate on killing that rabbit because then one pet will need to be re-homed ...

IM SO CONFUSED!?!?! I think I'm falling in love with my best friend...?

Hi, I'm 18 years old, and I kinda feel a little too old to ber asking this, but whatevs. So about 4-5 months ago I met this girl. At first, I didnt like her that much. We starting talking and hanging out a little more, and we actually started getting along very well. Actually we grew closer and closer every day. The more I hung out with her, the more I wanted to be around her. As our friendship grew we both realized that we love each other: but, you know, that friendship love. We're pretty much best friends at this point. Then things took a different turn. Her boyfriend cheated on her, and she took it really hard. As u can probably imagine, they're not together anymore. After that, everytime we talked, she seemed less energetic, and just plain sad, even though she would cover it up in a sea of weird corny jokes. All I wanted to do was make her feel better, all I wanted to do was make her laugh. She would always tell me that I was the best, and when we hugged each other it was like, a more meaningful sign of affection, but again, more like a friendship affection. Its hard to explain. I then found myself thinking about her all the time. I started daydreaming about the two of us in each others arms and walking down the street holding hands. I would get giddy when I was around her, and when she laughed and smiled, I would feel warm and comforted. I would think to myself "I'm falling in love with her." I sort of wanted to tell her how I feel, but I wanted to be smart and not screw up our relationship because we're both happy. Everyday it got harder and harder to do this but I still kept my cool. However, recently, very recently, things are kind of changing again. She seems back to herself again. She's having more fun, she's crazier, and she tells more inappropriate jokes. And I have the best time when I'm around her. It makes me so happy to see her happy. Now I think I'm kind of losing the strong feelings I had for her. I'm starting to wonder if it's what I really want. But theres still a part of me that really wants me to be with her; partly because I want her to be happier than she's ever been in her life. I'm not saying I'm mr. perfect, but I would sure love to be the perfect guy for her. I dont know what to do/think of this. When I think about her like this and I'm not with her, it hurts me emotionally. I often find myself lying awake at night, thinking about her. As I'm sure its pretty obvious, I don't have a lot of experience with girls, so this is still a little new to me. I'm not sure how she really feels about me.

I jut can't take it anymore!!!?

My dad is a drunk. He goes out partying every single night, and we don't even know where. And when he's home all he does is yell and verbally abuse (sometimes physically/sexually) us. I'm sick of this, and my mom does nothing to protect us, even if she is scared i'm her daughter and she should protect me from him. I can't even tell when he's drunk anymore. The other day, I was driving on the highway with him and I could kind of tell he was drunk because he was swirving all over the place and he kept texting too. I was so scared! I can not take this anymore. I'm only 15 so I can't move out. I thought about just telling the cops, but then I thought about his side of the family, and how they would hate me If I did anything. And my whole family would be torn apart, even though it already is. But still, I hate making people sad even if it makes me sad. I just really don't know what to do. I'm stuck. advice. I feel like I'm so powerless and that this is normal, so I should just leave it. i dont knoww.....

How do I get over it?

So about 5 months ago or so, when my bf and I had been together for about 4 months, he dumped me. I later found out that he dumped me for another girl. This girl, let me tell you about her. She is in the same class as he is (one year above me) and she is really pretty. She has bright blue eyes and perfect skin and perfect hair. She always wears cute clothes. She might not be the skinniest, though that doesn't take away from her beauty. Before all this happened, I never really paid attention to her, but I didn't necessarily like her. I did think she was annoying and complained a lot, which she does. But back to the story, I suspected that something had happened at her party that she invited my bf to. I didn't realize until after it was too late how much she liked him. Nothing reallyhappened at the party, but Im guessing there was a lotof flirting. Then he dumped me the next day, saying he didn't love me as a gf anymore. I made a big deal about it. The next night he apologized, saying he didn'tnowhat he was thinking. I took him back. A week later, hedumped me again. 3 days later, he apologized even more. I could honestly tell it was sincere. And things are perfect between us since then, we havent been fighting and we haven't broken up or anything. and the girl hasn't been causing problems anymore than usual. But ever since then I have felt obsessed with her. For a while I tried to copy her style and be more confident like her. Eventually we made friends. Now I hate her again, be ause I realize that I never really liked her. But still, I find myself searching all over facebook for pics of her and asking our mutual friends about her. I can't let it go. And every time she is around, I make fun of her and laugh and stuff. I don't know why I can't jut forgive and forget. I keep having nightmares about she and my bf kissing I feel bad because my bf asks why I'm sad and I have to Keep telling him about it and I think he is getting annoyed and I feel bad. Older dog with night time anxiety?

We have a 9 yr old husky greyhound mix. We have had him for about 9 months, and he was a rescue. He has thunderstorm phobia, which we are trying to treat with noise therapy and Benadryl. This last week or so, he has been showing the same signs of anxiety when there is no thunderstorm, and we are at a loss. I don't know if he is truly having a anxiety issue or realizes he gets more attention when he acts like that. Has anyone had this issue? We've heard about Valium, but feel like we can fix this without it. Thank you in advance for any tips :)

Cat Problems with going to the bathroom?

Do you know what could be going on with my cat(s) and how I can fix this problem? I have had 3 cats (two boys one girl) for years now and a few months ago we brought a new cat (girl) into our home and nothing happened with my cats. A few weeks ago we rescued another new cat (boy) who had been abandoned. Now, weeks later, my family got home from a weekend camping trip and my cat(m) who is usually very social is hiding and my bed room is full of cat feces and urine, all over the floor, but the litterbox was clean and they've always used it before, what's going on? First off, your kitty is super cute. Sadly its kind of common for kittens to come with a lot of problems because the previous owners didn't care enough/ didn't have the money to take proper care of them. You should get her checked out by a vet asap. Hopefully the leg thing is just a little injury that can be easily fixed, but you need to make sure she doesn't have worms or any other parasites or diseases that come from poor living conditions. For the past few days there has been this horrible smell of dog poop and chocolate. I finally jut found it was the rotten potatoes on our kitchen counter and black liquid was coming out from the bottom of the bag. I threw it out outside and srcubed it with Lysol wipes and hand sanatozer but the smell is still there. Does anyone know what I can use to take the smell away, maybe a home remedy. How can I sleep at night?

So I'm in 7th grade and I just can't sleep! I've had this problem for a few months now...I always read before bed and sleep with a small light on. If it makes a difference I do have a lot of fears like murderers and burglars etc. Sometimes I know it's because I wasn't stimulated enough but on some days (like today) I do exercise etc... Right now it's 1 am and I went swimming 5 hours straight today! I eat healthy and am in pretty good physical condition. One of the things that sometimes effects it is if anyone else in my house is awake. If my parents are awake then I can usually sleep. I don't take medicine except sometimes natural things like Rescue. If I'm up all night I'll usually watch videos on my laptop or something. But I really want to sleep already!! If you could suggest something it would be a great help.

My mom and me just dont get along?

My mom and I have never really gotten along! We're just too much alike and we but heads 24/7. I can't say something without her starting a fight about it, and I'll admit sometimes I will pick a fight with her too. My boyfriend left to go out of town for two weeks saturday, so Saturday and Sunday I was a little grumpy, I know. Well my mom being the way that she is, woke up this morning, and was being really shitty. Then I told her that I didn't want to go camping with her if she was going to act like that, and she said she didn't care, that I was going. She told me that I WAS going. I told her No I'm not!. and she took my cell ohone away. This upset me, because she knows how much I want to talk to him, and he can only call me in the morning and at night, and she knows how upset I am about him leaving anyways, In my opinion this was really wrong, and I think she's acting very immature about this. It makes me really angry and I've pretty much accepted the fact that we won't ever get along, untill we don't have to see eachother every day. My dog killed a kitten?

I have a rescue dog, Had it for nearly two years now. We ended up with it as originally we fostered it for a friend who runs a rescue centre till it could be sent to the RSPCA to be re-homed. The dog hates being confined anywhere, which is why we took it. It was being kept in a centre and was driving them crazy barking all the time. Well, the dog went to the rspca who kept it confined (they were supposed to be sending to a foster home) which made it play up and they said it cant be re-homed and must be put down. We told them we would take it back rather than put it down, and so have had it since. The dog is a bit of an escape artist, jumps high fences, slips his lead/collar/harness and runs amok in general. It dislikes other dos, HATES cats (we have some) and if it sees any animal smaller than itself turns into a bully.It escaped off its coller and chain last night (during the day it stays out back on a chain as it escapes otherwise) and ran to our neighbors farm (over the road) my hubby went after it, went into their yard and noticed a small kennel with kittens. He closed the door, but left it open a bit in case the mother came back. Our dog ran past, saw the kittens pulled them all out shook, 2 of them, then killed the 3rd. My hubby tried to get him off the kitten, but every-time he went near, the dog snapped at him. He eventually managed to get his lead on and dragged him off (too late for the poor kitten though). We are at our wits end now. We cant keep the dog indoors because of our cats plus young children, and the dogs hate being confined in a room. We cant confine this dog as it will escape (our other dog does not) and as we live in a farming community, if it goes near or harasses any other animals, it will probably end up shot. I think we should get shot asap, hubby wants to try and train the dog, but is busy on a farm and does not really have the time. Does anyone have any advice/suggestions? Thank you

4-5 week old kitten (female) peeing blood?

I rescued a (estimated) 4 week old female kitten. I have been giving it Hartz milk replacement and give it a tiny bit of Whiskas cat food twice a day (not the crunchy solid food but the wet solid food). We took it to the vet about a week ago and they gave it medicine to de-worm it but said that it was too young for shots. The kitten knows to use the litter box and does regularly. However every other day (or two) she will pee and it looks like gooey blood is coming out. When she gets this gooey blood coming out it isn't really a liquid and stays attached to her until I wipe it away. Also she starts peeing everywhere (except the litter box, which she knows to use) when the blood is there. After I wipe/pull away the blood (sometimes it doesn't come off if you just wipe) she attempts to pee and more comes out, and it practically blocks her from peeing. When this happens it normally lasts about an hour or two before it just returns to normal. Does anyone know whats going on with her? She hasn't been stepped on or injured in anyway so I don't really know whats happening.

Rescued baby bird questions?

I have rescued many baby birds and none have survived. Can someone give me some common detailed mistakes most people make because I am trying to nurse a baby dove that's family was killed by a cat after a robin pushed the babys out of the nest. He is doing good so far and I have been giving him kitten milk every time he acts hungry. He talks a lot and looks healthy. So I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Dog aggression, dog to dog?

This is a complex question, and I have found that some dogs, just can not be left off lead. Unfortunetly some dogs are just aggresive by nature. Is he neutured? What type of breed? It seems that his instinc is too strong to listen to you when called. He is obviously fixated on the other dogs. Usually male dogs that are dominant and unneutured, do challenge other male dogs. I would really stick with on the lead training for a while, and if he is not responding to you, you will have to make peace with the fact that he is just one of those dogs that need to be kept on a lead at all times. It is not a bad thing at all though. Also, give yourself some time. He is still new in your family, and probably unsure of how to react to your commands at this stage.

I know how you feel, for a long time i couldn't leave my 4 month old white shepherd cross alone in the sitting room for even 1 minute. However, he has gotten a lot better with consistent training and age. The main thing is to be consistent. Have a stern word for when she does something bad (NO is good), restrain her an give her a tap on the nose. DO NOT hit her or cause her pain of any kind, it is cruel, dogs don't have the capasity to learn from it, and it just makes the dog angry and scared. A tap on the nose and a stern word will impress upon her that she's doing something bad. What i do to introduce my dog to strangers (he gets VERY excited) is i pick him up and let the stranger stroke his back until he calms down. They then stroke the back of his head, then the front of his head. Then i put him down, but restrain him by putting an arm across his chest until he definitely is not nipping them. I find that generally restraining the dog until he/she calms down works. Good luck, hope i've helped.

What dog breed sounds best for me?

No matter what you should walk your dog once a day even if it is a lazy breed. Funny enough I think that a rottweiler (one of the breeds you actually like) may be a good choice. I had one for years and she way very calm and was a fantastic dog. The problem with Rottweilers is that you may want one that is still a puppy (between 6-8 months) because they can get bad habits and can be aggressive if you do not establish dominance and teach them that biting is not acceptable. They are incredibly stubborn dogs but are definitely worth all the training and work in the end.

Sounds like she might be pregnant. I would highly recommend splitting them up for a brief time until her babies are older. Male hamters (even robos) tend to be aggressive toward babies and might harm them. Also, as her due date grows closer, she will become more aggressive towards the male and may harm him! The female is pregnant for between 20-25 days so you should estimate when she would have babies if she is pregnant. It is supposto rain tonight and I didnt have a shelter for my 3 year old, so I built him a nice little stall in my garage (great ventilation) , I made sure I completely horse proofed it the only straw I had is kind of dusty, I think, and I gave him a hay net a salt lick and tonss of water . Female cat with behavior problems.?

Okay so, a year ago I rescued and tiny, malnourished, and terrified female kitten. She was only a few weeks old. I'm a cat person and have raised many cats. This kitten, Willow has been raised by me, and only me for the last year. She's really sweet, but seems to almost be bipolar. She appears to have taken a liking to clawing my face. About 20 minutes ago she came downstairs purring, so I said "good morning" to her, picked her up and pet her and then kissed her shoulder blade. She responded by clawing my forehead and growling and not letting go until I had 6 bleeding puncture wounds on my forehead. I might expect that from an unfamiliar cat who I did not raise, but I'm stumped. I have 4 other cats that I have raised like I've raised her, and they're docile and exceptionally loving. Then again, they're all males. I need some advice on how to curve this behavior. She loves me, and is really affectionate but acts almost bipolar when she does this. It's happened multiple times. She is spayed if that makes any difference. Please help me because my forehead hurts. Thanks!!

Terriers are good too. Such as rat terriers or jack russels. Definitely get a dog from the shelter. That will save you a ton of money on the dog. Plus the dogs already have most of their shots and have had a behavioral check. That will save you money on vet costs.

We have had an adorable little cat Sonny for about a year and a half. She was great but our family decided to get a dog. A month has passed since we rescued our 10 month old Lab/Beagle mix ,Lucky.Their first experience was that of a chase. There were many more like this as long as the cat was on the move, but if the cat was at the window staying still a couple barks and Lucky calmed down. As for when the cat is running we are truly scared the dog may injure the cat. Then we thought getting another cat might help but were not sure. Cat runs laps in house! Help!?

I got a cat from a pound rescue last year and she has been fixed, and all of her immunizations, etc. She is completely healthy, maybe a little overweight now but that's it. What should I do about my stressed guinea pig?

I rescued two abandoned female guinea pigs. One guinea pig is doing fine, but the other bigger one seems very stressed. She wouldn't eat and would not come out of her house. I gave her to another lady who lives by me and has a lot of animals, my guinea pig is still doing fine, but after reading a lot of info online I am wondering if I should get another friend for my pig, or if I should go get the other guinea pig back, in case the separation is stressing her out more. My friend said the other guinea pig still won't eat and still won't come out of the house and this has been going on for over a week. HELP!!!

He looks like a jack russell mix very cute. but determining a dogs age is by the teeth and if there is a full mouth of em and some are loose or come loose soon he wont get very large. if he has few teeth and more are coming in he is young like 8 wks old. paw size will give you better size as adult. big paws on a puppy means big dog as adult and will mean the puppy is youger like 6 wks or less. smaller paws 8 to 10 weeks old. Thank you for rescuing him and I hope you keep him and he grows to be a great dog for you! Note if he has big paws then the heeler or lab mix even pit is possible.

What activity would my GSD be good at? Any suggestions?

I have a 16 month old, small (55 lb), female rescue GSD. She has a lot of energy, more than that could be solved with a daily walk. I really want to do some type of activity/competition with her. We are looking at agility because she is super fast, nimble, agile, and can jump very high! She is very smart and can learn to do almost anything. She has pretty much no fear! She also has a high prey drive, and is very workable. I want this activity to tire her out because of all her energy. Is agility a good choice? Seems like a lot of work but is it worth it? She currently is at training classes so she is fairly well trained, not so sure she could be an obedience or rally dog, needs really fast pace. Oh she also loves water! What are some things she might be able to do?

I don't use paddock boots so I couldn't answer that next question. Jods are what the children wear. Last semester I came to notice a girl a lot. She looked a bit weird but attractive also. Black Lab Puppy throwing up?

So I've got a puppy today. He's a rescue, got him from my cousin. He's 8 weeks old and is a black lab. I'm sitting at my grandmas house, we'll be here for a few more hours before we leave. We didn't have any dog food, so we fed him some chicken and ham, thinking it shouldn't be to bad, as we had to give him his worm medicene anyways. We fed him abou an hour ago, and now he's vomitting everywhere. He'd vomit and heave alot, then walk around for about 5 minutes and start again. I think he's finally done, but I'm worried if we feed him to give him the rest of his worm meds he might start to vomit again. We do not have a car to go get food right now, my dad has it. Is there something we can feed him? And also, we have an 8 hour car ride home, is there something we should do to prepare him? I was thinking of letting him sleep in the bck seat with me.

Alright well I met a girl online ( on a game... yeah i know...) she was having problems with her ex and i helped her cope over him. After she got over him we become really close and we basically became best friends. One night we were just chatting forever and i decided to ask if she had feelings for me and it got into this whole conversation on what we like about each other. That same night she said she loved me i responded back with I love her too and i could tell i did, i really liked her personality and everything about her. We couldnt stop saying "I love you" to each other for a week straight in text, over twitter, etc. After a couple days after this she told me she was stressing during college if this was serious and she said she was getting pretty worked up we worked things out and found out we need to take it a step down and not say "i love you" for awhile. Well this lasted for about 2 weeks after that conversation and i asked her if she still has the same feelings because it feels like we are just gettng distant. She told me "What ever happens, happens." I wanted a direct answer and i got worked up for some really stupid reason which i really regret so much right now and i said to her this might not work out, she said she was thinking the same thing and if we could stay friends it hurt me pretty badly ><. so for about 6 months she hasnt really talked to me and recently she has and i kept getting really jealous when she would talk about another guy or another guy talks to her. I have no idea how to get over her and still ber her friend, i dont want her to be hurt if i just stop being friends with her. Designers, please help! How do I combine a modern living room with a rustic rock fireplace?

The fireplace that came with this house will have to stay as I can't afford to tear it down and rebuild it. It is "overly" rustic with some rocks jutting out randomly and it's just not my style. If it weren't for the odd rocks jutting out, I could just cover it with drywall then tile around it. I want to update my living room with modern colors and furnishings but I don't want it to clash with the fireplace. Maybe I should go more for a transitional style instead? Designers or just people with a good sense of style, I need your suggestions. Please help!

well the story is, my aunt jane was a drug addict and had my cousin lucy, she is 14 now, but her whole life before she was 3 she lived in her crib, never went outside still was fed formula from a bottle because my aunt was always passed out on drugs and would just give lucy a bottle every couple hours, she would just sit in her crib crying and talking to herself, she learned to talk by watching barney over and over, my aunt had it on repeat 24/7. so then my mom and dad came and took lucy when they saw how bad she was, and then my aunt came and lived with us trying to get clean and when lucy was 5 my aunt died from overdose, lucy was very traumatized, but while we had ber we taught her to eat and walk and go to the bathroom, and by the time she was about 7 she could have a conversation other then talking to herself and just parrot what ud say, and we thought we got her alot better and she quit talking to herself,we thought. she is 14 now, still developmentally about 9-10, but every time she goes to the bathroom i hear her talking to herself like she is 2 people. like she'll be like 'what are you doinb tonight? well im probably going to hang out with my cousin. oh what will you guys do?' etc. so i just want to know if maybe it multiple personalities or what? no body else knows she still does it really, like theyll just hear her talking and be like quit talking to yoursself lucy, but theyve never actually listened thru the door like i have, i know creepy.lol but i wanted to know what she was saying. but has anyone ever heard of something like this with emotionally abused children? is it multiple personalities or what?

I'm 14 and for a little while now I've been having bad pain in my right knee whenever I run, jump, or like bend it like as in lunging. I get it in my left knee to but it's not as bad. My mom got me a knee brace for it but it doesn't help. I looked up the disease and it hurts where they say it does. Like below your knee like the top of your shin. I am very active. I do track volleyball I tumble and do cheerleading but is only invovled in cheerleading and tumbling right now. Only I was playing basketball earlier and when I was done my knee was really hurting bad. And btw, I never did anything to it, they jut randomly started to hurt

I met this guy at the club on Friday, and he seemed cool. I admit when I have liquor in my system, I get a bit friendly. Well that night I made out with him and then I ga e him my number. He didn't have his phone on him at the time but he remembered it by heart. The moment I got to my car, he called me and told me to save it. Turns out he actually looked through my text messages, pictures, notes, the whole shabang! WTF?? Not only that but my friend called me and HE picked up MY phone. -__- I didn't mind at first but now that I think of it, it was rude and an invasion of MY privacy. I just met him 3 days ago, WTf is his deal? Well now he hasebt spoken to me since because he found text messages of me talking to other guys. VErY person ones... Dogs living in apartment vs. House?

i don't think a dog knows what it is living in ... i have lived in huge homes, tiny apartments and a sailboat and my dog did not care where we were, she was happy in all (i think she liked the boat the best which was the smallest but she could jump off and swim to her hearts content) ... and i also think dogs that live in apartments tend to be better trained and socialized ... you can not live in an apartment with a barker, you would not have a home anymore ... you can not live in an apartment with an aggressive dog, you would be evicted ... you can not live in an apartment with a destructive dog as you would be evicted ... barkers, aggressive dogs, and destructive dogs live in houses not apartments ... apartments are in downtown/more condensed areas where there are lots of people and lots of dogs so dogs get used to seeing other dogs more so than dogs left in backyards resulting in better socialized dogs ... and not having a backyard means my dog is walked at least 3 times a day, the backyard crew cannot say the same ... when i visit my parents who live in a house in the burbs the dogs are barkers and chasers, that would not be acceptable in a downtown area ... but these dogs in the burbs rarely leave their backyards and the owners just seem to accept the behavior ... and sorry, the burbs suck, cookie cutter houses, people living to pay off their cookie cutter dream, give me an apartment downtown any day :O) when i take my dog for a walk i do not walk by houses that all look the same, i walk to the ocean, to one of north americas larger urban parks, i walk the entire city which is interesting and always unique ...

In desperate need of help for training my Lab/Pitbull mix.?

My fiance and I have had this dog since November of 2010. We rescued him from the pound. He was one of a litter of eight male puppies and we were given no information on the parents. He looks like a lab mostly but some people say he has some characteristics of a pitbull as well. My fiance and I DO NOT want to get rid of him, but we are at a loss of what else to do. This is the worst dog we have EVER had. And we have tried everything from cage training to the clicker to a shock collar to a sonic sound remote. Nothing works. If you reprimand him, he actually barks back at you. He doesn't listen AT ALL to anyone telling him to stay off the couch or not to eat food off the table or anything. He bites hard, and when I lay on the bed, he actually bites the back of my neck and my fiances neck. Spanking doesn't work, he still barks and bites back. My fiance and I definitely want children sometime but neither of us trust this dog enough to even let him near OTHER children. If we do get rid of him we can't even consider giving him to a family because he bites. We both love this dog to death and want it to work but he is destructive and has destroyed a leather couch we haven't even had for a month that we still need to make payments on. We live in an apartment, but he goes for daily walks and occasionally goes to the dog park or a friends back yard when we go over for barbeques. We put him through a training course at PetSmart and he failed MISERABLY. He was the barking trouble maker in the class. We got him the shock collar and he learned that he only gets shocked when he barks loudly so he started just moaning quietly enough so that it was still annoying but not shocking him. I am with him all morning and my fiance is with him all night. What can we do?!?!?!
